LASA has three categories of travel grants to support attendance at the LASA Regional Symposium on Central America 2026 in Costa Rica. These grants, made possible through the efforts of the LASA Central America Program Committee and the generous support of the Ford Foundation, aim to expand access and foster inclusive participation in this important academic event.

The Latin American Studies Association (LASA) is the largest professional association in the world for individuals and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America. With over 13,000 members, over 60% of whom reside outside the United States, LASA is the one Association that brings together experts on Latin America from all disciplines and diverse occupational endeavors, across the globe.
The University of Costa Rica (UCR) is an institution of higher education, constitutionally autonomous and democratic, made up of a community of professors, students, and administrative staff, dedicated to teaching, research, social outreach, study, reflection, artistic creation, and the dissemination of knowledge.
